irā (इरा)

A name related to Sarasvatī, the goddess of speech, music/arts and sacred knowledge. At Irā Yoga, we invoke her spirit through the living practice of the yamas and niyamas, cultivating clarity in speech (satya), purity in thought (śauca), and a disciplined yet graceful unfolding of inner knowledge (svādhyāya, tapas).

A Sanskrit name meaning Earth, Wind and Water. Our goal is to embody the grounding strength of Earth, the flowing adaptability of Water, and the uplifting freedom of Wind to offer a space where stability, emotional connection, and breath-centered movement guide every practice.

Ultimately, they are the last three letters of our founder Jesira. The Name chosen by her first Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher, her Dad.

values

devotion and intention

The value of a commitment to your Asana practice is something a lot of us have come to understand already. At irā yoga, we hope to ignite a love for Yoga within you, that goes way beyond a regular practice but rather a sense of joy, dedication and gratitude for the depths of the yogic path.

We are devoted to honouring the roots of these ancient teachings, passing on the lineages of many teachers to create a safe environment for learning, reflecting and uncovering.

connection and inspiration

Yoga is a practice that unites. We come together and discover that we are all different expressions of the same source. Together we make room to co-create, inspire and learn from each other.

With minds and hearts wide open, we all contribute to an unforgettable experience.

creativity and authenticity

Our vision is to help you feel confident in creating intentional and profound experiences in a deeply personal way.

By introducing different teachers and styles, we aim to foster a sense of curiosity to encourage genuine self-expression and exploration.
